Richard A. Jonas MD is the Co-director of the Children’s National Heart Institute in Washington, D.C. He is the Cohen-Funger Professor of Surgery at Children’s National Medical Center and Professor of Surgery at George Washington University. He is also past president of the American Association for Thoracic Surgery and the Congenital Heart Surgeons’ Society.

One of the best books out there on congenital heart disease. The other of course "Stark"
The contents of the book are good, but I have to say this edition is not better than the former one. Though there are many up-dates, the beginning characters introducing the training policy of a cardiac surgeon in the USA is totally useless for a cardiac surgeon in the mainland of China. I buy this book for 2 reasons. 1, the translation one I bought in China translated by Shanghai Children's Medical Center, Shanghai Jiaotong University, is of very low quality, too many grammatical mistakes. 2, I really love my profession and will take this book as one of my collection.
